Long-term trends in atmospheric Quercus pollen related to climate change in southern Spain: A 25-year perspective

چکیده
Long-term trends of atmospheric Quercus pollen recorded for 25 years (1995–2019) in southern Spain (Cordoba city, Andalusia region) have been studied to determine the influence climate fluctuations and other anthropogenic factors on Mediterranean oak vegetation areas. Atmospheric analysis revealed different changes reproductive phenology through study period. Pollination intensity showed an average cumulated value Main Pollen Season Integral 12,832 * day/m3, with a high variability among (±SD 8,048) significant rising trend 771 grains per year, being stronger recent (2014–2019). It was remarkable quantity detected out (703 day/m3 ± SD 431), also increasing years. Regarding phenology, results indicated as main species area, ilex subsp. ballota (holm oak), Q. coccifera, faginea suber, presented gradually pollination during spring (from mid-March early June), although lengthening season is observed This phenomenon could be explained by progressive delay suber. factors, decrease rainfall, especially winter autumn recorded, along colder winters but warmer springs, summers, autumns. These were significantly correlated timing intensity. The parameters most affecting those related temperature sunshine. However, total annual negative correlation rainfall. Results show that climatic change, are leading area.

Platanus pollen season in Andalusia (southern Spain): trends and modeling.
Platanus is a major cause of pollen allergy in many Spanish cities. The present paper reports an analysis of Platanus pollen season throughout the Andalusia region (southern Spain), which has among the highest pollen counts and the highest incidence of Platanus-related allergies in Europe. The main aim was to analyze pollen season trends from 1992 to 2010 in Andalusia; models were also construc...
متن کاملOn estimating local long-term climate trends
Climate sensitivity is commonly taken to refer to the equilibrium change in the annual mean global surface temperature following a doubling of the atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration. Evaluating this variable remains of significant scientific interest, but its global nature makes it largely irrelevant to many areas of climate science, such as impact assessments, and also to policy in terms...
متن کاملForest insects and climate change: long-term trends in herbivore damage
Long-term data sets, covering several decades, could help to reveal the effects of observed climate change on herbivore damage to plants. However, sufficiently long time series in ecology are scarce. The research presented here analyzes a long-term data set collected by the Hungarian Forest Research Institute over the period 1961-2009. The number of hectares with visible defoliation was estimat...

15 صفحه اولThe challenge of long-term climate change.
Climate policy needs to address the multidecadal to centennial time scale of climate change. Although the realization of short-term targets is an important first step, to be effective climate policies need to be conceived as long-term programs that will achieve a gradual transition to an essentially emission-free economy on the time scale of a century. This requires a considerably broader spect...
